Facebook Phone Flop: Cancelled UK Distribution

The so-called “Facebook Phone” doesn’t seem to have the success hoped for by Zuckerberg: after the decision of the American AT & T to erase the sale after just one month, according to Engadget.com the First Htc will not have time for the announced distribution in Britain.

The rumor was later confirmed by a statement of EE, one of the UK mobile operators: “Facebook is adding new features to its app Home – explained by EE – and while working on how to improve the experience, has recommended First HTC delay the launch in Britain.”

According to Engadget, in reality, the decision would be dictated by the limited success of the smartphone in the U.S., where it would have been just sold 15 thousand units, even after the price has been lowered to 0.99 cents for those who underwrote a subscription.

More success seems to have the interface “Home”, which allows any smartphone Android (some features are also found on devices with iOS) to “transform” into a Facebook phone: has now been downloaded a million times in the first four weeks of availability.
